Lil Wayne Facing Up To 15 Years Prison Time Over Gun Charges

A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday (Feb 23) that rapper Lil Wayne could face up to 15 years jail when he faces criminal gun possession charges, in a trial beginning April 20.

New York State Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon ordered jury selection to commence once Wayne, born Dwayne Carter, finishes his current touring commitments.

The rap star faces one count of criminal weapons possession and one charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon after police allegedly found the gun on his tour bus in 2007.

Carter wraps up his current tour on April 12.
