Lil Wayne is a man of many words when it comes to his rhymes, but the superstar MC was short and to the point when describing how he’s moving on past his experience in prison the past eight months.

“I forgot about yesterday,” Wayne told MTV News exclusively on the red carpet of his “Welcome Home Tunechi” party in downtown Miami on Sunday night (November 7).

The night before, on Saturday, Wayne surprised fans and Drake by appearing on stage next to his protege during Drake’s last tour stop in Las Vegas for his Light Dreams and Nightmares jaunt.

“It’s unexplainable,” Wayne said of returning to the stage. “Words can’t explain. I’m good with words and I can’t explain.”

“I just wanna thank everybody,” he said. “Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.”

(Video) Drake Shares Phone Call with Lil Wayne, Brings Out Nicki Minaj in L.A.

“I’m in one of the greatest moods that I’ve ever been in in my entire life,” said an exuberant Drake before kicking off his first show since Lil Wayne was released from jail last night at the Gibson Amphitheatre in University City, Calif.

He shared a conversation he had with Weezy, who called him earlier in the day. Drake wasn’t sure who was on the other end at first until the mystery caller revealed himself. The sold-out crowd erupted in chants of “Weezy! Weezy!” before he performed “Right Above It” in honor of his brother. The moment was captured on Drizzy’s personal camera to show to Tunechi.

While the boss was still in New York, Nicki Minaj and Tyga held it down with Drake on the West Coast. The Young Money family members performed “BedRock” and Nicki did part of her verse from “Up All Night” with crowd participation. Watch the family affair below.

One of Lil Wayne’s first orders of business once he returns to the studio will be recording a remix for Nicki Minaj. The Young Money femcee said that plans are underway for Weezy to remix a Pink Friday album cut.

“I think that he’s definitely going to be doing a remix, as he was in jail when I recorded Pink Friday,” Nicki told DJ Skee on 102.7 KIIS FM’s “New Music Show.” “He’s not on Pink Friday, so I will definitely want to get his little butt in the studio to do a remix right away.”

She didn’t say which song he would be remixing, but when Skee suggested an entire album, Nicki replied, “The Lil Wayne remix Pink Friday album.”

The Harajuku Barbie has spoken with the recently released YM chief, who was in Arizona today for a court appearance. “He’s doing well. He’s in great spirits. He’s always upbeat,” shared Nicki, who is excited to reunite with her boss. “I’ll see him on Sunday. I cannot wait! I just can’t wait to hug him and stuff.”

Wayne will celebrate his homecoming with his Cash Money-Young Money family at a party hosted by his record label in Miami this Sunday, and may appear at Drake’s “Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour” closer tomorrow in Las Vegas.

Birdman & Mack Maine Speak On Lil’ Wayne’s Release

Birdman called Big Boy’s radio station in Los Angeles earlier and spoke on Lil Wayne’s release from Rikers Island. Baby gave a rundown of Tunechi’s itinerary over the next couple days, but said they still plan to pop bottles and look at these models. Shouts to RR! You can also read a statement Mack Maine released about how he and his fam are “overcome with emotion” over Weezy’s release after the jump below.

“Like any family who is blessed enough to witness a loved one exit prison, the entire Cash Money/Young Money household has been overcome with emotions,” Maine said in a statement. “Watching my little brother walk out from behind those walls was more powerful than anything we have ever accomplished together because it meant we were officially a family again.”

“From the moment we found out Wayne would be going to Rikers, we prayed for this day would arrive as quickly as possible,” he continued. “It is finally here and words cannot properly describe the feeling in the air. Over the next few days, our only priority is making sure Wayne re adjusts to life outside of jail as smoothly as possible. He’ll be spending much needed quality time with his children and closest loved ones. From there, it is back to work and back to what we have been doing for years – making good music.”

“To the fans who have been a part of this process every step of the way, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, especially Wayne,” He added. “Your well-wishes and prayers have made this tough situation much easier to cope with and now we can all celebrate.”
